Here's a snapshot of me at work
on a clay portrait study with my
daughter Jacaranda (about 2 1/2 at the time, Jan. 2002)

I live in Encinitas, California, with my wife Aleta
Barthell, a fabulous and about-to-be-discovered screenwriter, and
our daughter Jacaranda, who is an all-around wonderful girl. I get
to spend a lot of time with Jac, and try to share my interests with
her, as well as help her explore her own. I love the beach, and
am a sometime surfer. Playing flamenco guitar takes up a lot of
my "spare" time. I also play capoeira; I enjoy the challenge,
the spontaneity, the music, and the friends. I love snow skiing,
too, but there's less of that going on since we moved to SoCal from
Oregon (but I did start Jac skiing when she was 2 1/2). My day job
is managing Carlsbad Village Art & Anitque Mall, a family business
in Carlsbad, California. See my resume for art-related personal
info.
