This piece was based on watching 3 actresses warm up before the start of a theater show. The different way the three women stood and moved revealed a great deal about them. I wanted to see how much I could simplify the forms while retaining the essence of each figure. The drawing shows the evolution of the idea. The figure is not attached to the base, so that the relationship between "actress" and "stage" can change. At some point I will make a piece with all three figures, which will also be movable.
